Yes, George,
But some teachers don't know of the existence of these resources.
And they may not have the time nor inclination to work on this stuff before
using it in class.

There is a substantial literature available for teachers. For example,
University of Wisconsin Professor Bassam Z. Shakhashiri(born 1939) has given
more than a thousand chemical demonstrations to studentsand their teachers
(including eight Christmas lectures, in the spirit ofMichael Faraday, on
Wisconsin Public Television). Shakhashiri throughout hiscareer has been an
advocate for safe and pedagogically effective classroomchemistry
demonstrations, and has published several handbooks of chemicaldemonstrations
for teachers: Bassam Z. Shakhashiri, Chemical Demonstrations: A Handbook for
Teachers of Chemistry (Madison:University of Wisconsin Press; vol. 1, 1983;
vol. 2, 1985; vol. 3, 1989; vol.4, 1992; vol. 5, 2011).
