Good news from you 25hz,
can´t wait to see the pictures of the MD python. You said that it looks even better than yours!
I wonder how you all can achieve that low weight? The same for Torben. 13 kg are amazing. I measured the P3 once again, now without all the dirt it had gathered from off-road riding: 19 kg.
About the turning circle: It is not the circle that you can ride when you are on the bike. It is the theoretical minimum that one gets while pushing the bike around with the maximum steering angle. With better practice you might approach this value more and more.
Jürgen.
First, very cool project survey site :) I have the stats for the python my
friend made. For now, I'll just call it the "Python MD" by additing his
initials :)
Pivot angle 70 Trail -25.5 Seat height 25 bb height 38 bb seat diff 13 ground clearance 9 wheelbase 121 weight 12.5 (so far) bb-fwa 38 bb-eos 72 turning circle ? front tubing 51 x 13 x 1.6
I took some pictures of it and will make the pages and post the link
tomorrow, time willing. He took it for its first test ride this morning,
and it worked like a charm. He rode away on it first try. Most definite
confirmation that everything was fairly lined up :) He also said he liked
the "feel" of it better than mine. That might be due to the fact that mine
is more of a stretch for him than his is, as I'm about a foot taller than
him. Either way though, he could ride both. So, all I have to do is wait
for a little nice weather to melt the snow, then I'll learn to ride them
too.
