I can also confirm that I installed Ubuntu on the Odroid a few minutes ago by
simply placing the ssh file in the boot partition.

I installed ubuntu on the pi w/o sighted assistance. After burning the image,
I did the same thing with the first partition folks do with the raspbian one, I
just created an empty ssh file in the root file system, and when I booted the
pi, ssh was operational, and I was able to connect just fine. I don't know if
it was a result of my ssh file or if it was enabled by default, but either way,
I had no trouble connecting to the pi once I determined what ip address my
router gave the pi.

Installing ubuntu on the raspberry pi needs sighted assistance because ubuntu
does not come with ssh enabled. Go with Raspbian and you should get ubuntu
like functionality.
