Gina,

I think both Rill and Jim, both in the USA, have bought talking portable 
phone-charger power blocks.  These seem only to be available in the 
states, but non-talking ones are available over here.

The Pi is quite power-hungry and becomes unstable at much below 4.7 
volts, so a supply of a few thousand milli-amp hours is the order of the 
day.  Making the Pi portable but maybe less portable than a smart phone :)
