There are times I feel like I've done more hacking to get Knoppix as
close as possible to just how I want it than with any Linux distro I
used back when I was sighted, but it's still the best distro I've
found for setting up an x86 machine for blind use without needing
sighted assistance. If nothing else, I love how SBL makes reading
parts of the terminal the insertion cursor can't reach as simple as
hold down caps lock and move with the arrow keys as if you were in a
text document(plus caps lock plus home/end/PageUp/PageDown for read
from beggining of line, read to end of line, read from top of screen,
and read to bottom of screen respectively and Adriane-x's ability to
launch Firefox like a stand alone app without having the rest of the
desktop to confuse Orca(then again, if I could find a text-mode web
browser that's half as easy to use as Firefox is with the quick
navigation shortcuts Orca adds, I'd ditch the GUI altogether).
