Yes I think I am going to go with releasing it as using my OMX code to
give console audio via the 3.5mm analogue jack and a USB dongle for
desktop speech.
For Jeffery, I was thinking the same thing, but remember that whether
two males to one female, or two females to one male, it amounts to the
same thing.
If you had a two female to one male then:
1. Plug the single male of the Y connector into the USB dongle's output
socket.
2. Plug a 3.5mm to 3.5mm male-to-male lead in the analogue jack on the
Pi and the other end in one of the female sockets on the Y adaptor.
3. Plug your speaker or headphones into the other female socket of the
Y adaptor.
Result, both audio sources into one, and a desk that looks like a plate
of spaghetti. But the job is done.
