For what it's worth, (I've not used either under linux, but they do work
(to varying degrees) under windows), there's always both open office,
and librioffice, they both spring from the same code base, I can't
remember which, but I believe librioffice came about when open office
stopped development for a while. I do believe at the current moment
though, both are actively being developed, though it's been a while
since I checked on them, so I could be out of date. They do work fairly
well under windows though, so I'd expect them to work at least to some
degree under linux. I do have a linux box running orca now, so I
suppose I could find out.

PL] I hear what you say and broadly agree but one place remains where Windows
seems to be superior which is productivity applications. I need to use
spreadsheets and sometimes need to read charts. There is no way to do this in
Linux as far as I know. This is not a fault of Linux or orca but we need an
ecosystem for developers to start developing for it. Very tricky.
