This is great stuff, Golan.
Last week I logged into Cottonwood with my 300 baud modem, and was stunned
to find that BBSes work. I got the intro menu, but couldn't move beyond
that. It asks you if you're a guest or an approved user, and when you follow
the instructions, then I just got the approved user list over and over.
Maybe the website will allow me to figure out how to move past the initial
stage.
I also logged into the Toronto Free-Net, but I don't think that's a BBS, but
a free ISP. When the text comes in on my C64 it's pretty messed up. I have
the feeling it's actually describing an HTML page that is supposed to be
resolved in a browser. Fascinating experiment, though.
