Hello Brian and Ernie,
I tried to write the ISO image to a CD, but there wasn't enough space. I tried
to write it to a new HP 64 GB flash drive, but I got 2 error messages when I
tried to install it. I'll try the link you sent me. Thank you.
Cheers,
Marlon S.

An ISO image can be written to USB flash to boot, rather than writing out to
CD/DVD media
From Google search:

Getting an ISO file onto a USB drive isn't as easy as copying the file. Here's
a complete tutorial on how to burn an ISO to USB (like a flash drive).
(have done this myself many times)

Hi Marlon -
I see you have given up installing this but the .iso in the file name would
indicate that this is a CD image and needs to be burned to a CD.
Does your computer have the ability to boot from a CD to install the CD data
onto the hard drive?

I recently downloaded Ubuntu-16.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso into my Downloads dir,
but I'm not sure how to install it into my HP desktop system. I just got a 64
GB HP flash drive, so maybe that will help. Please advise me on this. Thank you.
