Great Falls National Park - CGF10, Fairfax, US-VA
Jun 24, 2012 8:00 AM - 10:15 AM
Our group of seven enjoyed the morning and tallied 40 species. We had close
looks at a family of red-eyed vireos.
Great blue herons seemed to have fledged with most congregating below the dam.
The eagles fledging last week
were nowhere to be seen. Other wildlife encountered: black rat snake on trail;
blue gills guarding egg circles in the river.
All are welcome to join this walk that meets at 8:00 am in the visitors center
courtyard. -- Marshall Rawson
