There were 15 of us on this morning's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk,
and in far more delightful weather than experienced recently, we tallied 44
species. Among the highlights were a Blue Grosbeak, a Wild Turkey, and a King
Rail heard in the loop area of the boardwalk. It was a beautiful morning,
and
after yesterday's downpour, water levels were up, keeping shorebirds away.

The Monday Morning birdwalk has been a weekly event at Huntley Meadows since
1985. It takes place every week, rain or shine, at 7AM, is free of charge,
requires no reservation, and is open to all. Birders meet in the parking lot
at
the Park's entrance at 3701 Lockheed Blvd, Alexandria, VA. Questions should
be
