A light skim of ice greeted the 10 Huntley Meadows Monday Morning
Birdwalkers causing some graceful shuffling along the boardwalk. We were able
to spot 40 species, including a pair of Wild Turkeys, what is becoming our
regular Winter wren, and 5 Eastern Phoebes. A couple of Bald Eagles, the usual
collection of wintering ducks, and one lone Yellow-rumped Warbler rounded out
the morning. The walk has returned to its customary 7 AM start. It will be a
little dark for the next 2 or 3 weeks aswe step off as daylight savings time
begins next weekend.
