The experiment of re-routing the Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk to the
Park's S. Kings Street entrance to avoid construction on the boardwalk didn't
turn out too well, so we will abandon the idea in the future. We had a total
of 8 birders this morning - 4 walking the conventional route, and 4 on the S.
Kings Highway path. Our total count was 45 species from both groups
Highlights included an immature Little Blue Heron in the central wetland, and a
magnificent view of a very cooperative Coopers Hawk in a snag on the S. Kings
Highway trail.
