My apologies, Dear Readers, for the delay in this posting. The report was
prepared by Stuart and Pam Davis while I was at a meeting for which I am
grateful. Seventeen birders participated in this week's Huntley Meadows
Monday Morning Birdwalk. It was a clear, crisp morning. Unlike last Monday when
the central wetlands were teaming with ducks, ice limited the duck
participation to four mallards at the beginning of the boardwalk. Of the
thirty-one observed species, highlights included newly paired Red-shouldered
Hawks, a Brown Creeper, Golden-crowned Kinglets, and many woodpeckers.
