The first Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk in June anticipated the
quietness that is often the main feature of Huntley in the summer. Our species
count was down, and the numbers of individuals within each species was
generally down. Our group of 18 birders was disappointed with only 41 species
counted. We still had highlights, however, which included a group of 4 Osprey
cruising over the wetlands and Eastern Kingbirds busy bringing caterpillars to
a nest full of chicks.
