As is usually the case on a Monday holiday, the gathering for the Huntley
Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk was quite large. Today, 35 birders joined us
for the walk. We tallied 52 species. The highlights included a Swainson's
Thrush, all six of the Woodpecker species found at Huntley this time of year,
and both Wood Duck and Hooded Merganser family groups. We wish to pass along
our thanks to Norman Spurling and Nancy Tresp for opening their home for our
standard after-the-Walk breakfast. Their hospitality was delightful!
