Here are directions from General Booth Blvd, near the VA Beach aquarium.
Go south for about 4 to 5 miles on General Booth Blvd from the aquarium.
Turn left onto Princess Anne Road (Rt. 615). This is the next major
intersection after the intersection with Nimmo Pkwy. There is a 7-11 store, on
the left-hand side, just past the intersection with Princess Anne.
In less than a mile, turn right at the second traffic light intersection, to
continue on Princess Anne Road. There is a Rite Aid to your left and a seafood
store to your right at this intersection.
Drive south on Princess Anne Road for about 1.5 miles (will past the Sherwood
Forest development on your right) and turn left onto Ashville Park Blvd (into
the Ashville Park development). There is a brick wall marking the development's
entry.
Drive down Ashville Park Blvd to the third roundabout (about seven tenths of a
mile). There is a small paved area on your right that you can park (big enough
for maybe two cars). The shrike has been perching on the tops of the trees
immediately adjacent to the north side of the roundabout. I also sometimes have
seen it in the fields to the north and south.
If you miss the turn-off for Ashville Park Blvd and continue south on Princess
Anne Road, you will know you have gone too far if you come to the intersection
with Seaboard Road.

If anyone has time, would it be possible to get updated directions to this
location (nearest intersection or street #, etc.)? I had a recent computer
crash and lost lots of info like directions that I had saved for later.

Subject: [Va-bird] Loggerhead Shrike seen today Va Beach
This afternoon around 3:40 the Loggerhead Shrike was located at the third
turnaround on the LEFT side as you drive into Ashville Park. He was perched
in a tree on the rise of the hill and flew down into the field to perch on a
tall weedy plant. Tom and I were happy to meet up with Beth & Keith who also
saw the bird :-) I have posted some pictures (although not as good as the
ones I got last
November) along with some pictures of an Osprey we saw earlier at Mackey
Island NWR. We bumped into Peggy Waterfield and she told us the Osprey
winters over there. Look in the album for the pic. with the buggy eyes...it
is so funny looking!
