The male anhinga reported this morning from Betts Pond, Northumberland
County, was still to be seen a little after noon, perched on a dead stump on
the left about halfway back. Many thanks to Richard Davis for meeting me
there and spotting the bird. An unobstructed view could be had only by
moving as far right along the roadway as possible.
Betts Pond is about three miles east of Heathsville on Betts Bottom Road,
Rt. 637, not Betts Pond Road as I incorrectly wrote this morning, .
