[vip_students] Messages in Subject Bar

Hi All,
I wondered about this for a while.
Now when we put a message in the subject bar/line and we keep it short and to
the point and all of that, and it looks fine but when it comes in to our inbox
the subject has invariably "lost it's tail" as you might say!
Allowing for the list name for example when received does any one know what is
the maximum number of characters you can place in a subject line that will
successfully make it through to the other side?
Trust that I make sense of a Monday!
