It might be hard to create an edit field for the synopsis that would ding or worn a person before they hit the 200 char limit. I think it might require javascript, and someone would of course object. Making an edit field that just won't accept more than the number of characters allowed is possible. I know that the html tags <input type=edit maxlength=8> for instance, works just fine. You probably encounter them all the time when you try to enter your phone number in a web form that doesn't like your way of writing it. The only problem I see is that the bookshare submit form uses the textarea tag instead of input. I suppose this is for creating a larger area edit displayed on the screen. I am not as familiar with that tag, but I know that I have seen it with maxlenth added to it. when I experimented with it I couldn't get it to prevent too much input, though. Can anyone tell me if there would be a problem with using the input tag for the short synopsis field? I would also like to know what the problem with maxlenth is in the textarea tag.
