You need to submit or proofread one book a year to be an ACTIVE volunteer.
Bookshare doesn't kick out volunteers for not being active.
One book a year is the minimum to be considered active.
Why look at this as a negative? It means the sky is the limit for being as
active as you wish, without being penalized if you can only do a tiny bit. If
you have to stop volunteering for over a year, you can pick up again at any
time, and you go automatically from inactive to active as soon as a book you've
scanned or proofed is approved. If you were inactive for a long time as a
proofreader you'll be asked to do a training book to make sure you are up to
date on what Bookshare currently requires.

with Amanda in the distant past, we volunteers were told it was
necessary to submit only one book a year to Bookshare. Why bother, if
that's all that's expected? Larry and I both started to wonder then if
Bookshare didn't want to get rid of us!
