Hi there…
I wonder if the words
“Respond defensively “
Could be replaced by “causal paradigm offensively”…
The word is the thing where we shall catch the conscience of the king…
Paradigms especially if non adumbrated are like light bridges… Sent from my

Why would you reduce human spiritual drive and our need of spiritual
expression to a mere coupling of emotions to a believe systems? It goes
further than that.
Also, you end up implying that spirituality equals a believe system serving
no other purpose than psychological comforting. Again, that is not what it
is. it goes way beyond this.
Why do you mean when you say these experiences deserve kindness and
patience? Because it really sounds condescending and I can understand how
these underlying ideas and choice of words invite reactivity.
Spirituality It is not a psychological process and it is not an emotional
process, althought we tend to invite emotions and ideas into the spiritual
process. I think this happens because our natural need to express ourselves
and share with others meets so many difficulties that expression shifts
into explaining.
Cultures where spiritual needs are met in appropiate manners do not distort
expression by the imposition of reasoning. They experience spirituality in
whatever form that culture has shaped it and transmit it through analogic
language, stories and metaphores.
Logic is a function of the mind for maths and operative tasks, not for the
depth of the realization of life and existance. Helliger used images and
short sentences because he undertood that explainig appeals to the mind,
not to the soul.
Our culture fails to understand this. I think that whatever effort is being
cataloged as pseudo-cience is a direct consequence of our insistence that
everything must be logic and and meet scientifc standarts. I do not think
science can have such a claim.
Scientifc appoaches do ultimately evoque spiritual understandings - such as
that everything is connected. But this does not make science an appropiate
channel for the spiritual practice. When we try that, we are not getting
the science right and, also, we are not getting the spirituality right.
Thank you,

Never for a moment did I suggest that delusional or faith based
experiences are not legitimate, or that these experience are not deserving
of kindness, patience and acceptance. So it is interesting to investigate
why we respond defensively when the invitation is merely to explore what
actual emotions are driving belief based attachment to ideas and
explanations. Assertions that do not allow the possibility that they can be
shown to be false could be a possible definition for pseudoscience. The
tendency to hold comforting beliefs, (religion) and the tendency to
overgeneralise have been proposed as reasons for pseudoscientific thinking.

Hi Monika,
The term “pseudoscience doesn’t have any objective meaning, does
it? It
can mean anything that someone wants to dismiss or disregard. Sorcery,
supernatural, and paranormal are all words that can describe legitimate
experiences, including experiences that I’ve personally had or been
present
to in constellations.
Maybe I’m misunderstanding your question?

Hello Friends,
