I personally have the sennheiser HD280 pro and love them. I have had
them for about 3 years now and they are still good enough for my needs
and I don't feal the need to upgrade yet. They are very comfortable to
ware for long periouds of time and gives great isolation especially if
you are going to use them for monitoring when recording, nothing gets
out and nothing gets in.
I personally don't like AKG headphones in this price range you are
looking at, you start getting the propper AKG headphones when going
above $500. I also heard that beyer dynamic makes awesome headphones
so check it out, I unfortunatly can't recommend a spesific model.
You won't go wrong with the HD280 pro
