Hi:I like either the Sony or akg ones myself. I also just bought a wireless set of headphones from Zenhowser whcich are remarkably good and they were only around $70 on Amazon. I do know that shure makes some good high-end headphones as well as audio tecnica.

I'm still looking at the beyer stuff, it's a mix of opinions and reviews, it might be that I'd have to fork out a few more bucks. If I may ask, what types of recordings do you do? How would you describe the 280's response? Does it get fatiguing on the ears after a while? I'm finding that this is a prominent issue, either too much bass or too much highs which tire the ears after a while of listening. I have had them for about 3 years now and they are still good enough for my needs and I don't feal the need to upgrade yet. They are very comfortable to ware for long periouds of time and gives great isolation especially if you are going to use them for monitoring when recording, nothing gets out and nothing gets in. I personally don't like AKG headphones in this price range you are looking at, you start getting the propper AKG headphones when going above $500. I also heard that beyer dynamic makes awesome headphones so check it out, I unfortunatly can't recommend a spesific model. You won't go wrong with the HD280 pro On 7/31/12, D!J!X! <megamansuperior@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:
Hey guys, I'm doing some research on headphones, before I buy a pair. I'm primarily looking for good tracking headphones, so isolation and comfort for extended wearing is crucial. I might also consider buying a pair for late night sessions (not mixing), just to listen and/or work on recordings at late hours. Any ideas or suggestions? I know this is a very subjective matter, but want to see if I can get some kind of general idea. So far I'm looking at: Sony MDR-7506, Sennheiser HD 280 PRO and AKG K 240. My budget for now is around $100, could go up a bit more, but I just want something to get started on, will upgrade later. :) So if you have any comments, suggestions or experiences, feel fre to share!
