I have indeed noticed slow behavior with Jaws 13. And here I thought it was
because I was using it on an older pentium 4 machine. The machine is still
pretty good, though, 3.4 processor, 2 gigs of ram, and windows xp. As I said,
though, I did notice the sluggishness of jaws 13. I wonder why an updated
version of Jaws would actually be worse than a lower version.

  are,

Again, if I were presented with JAWS 11 and JAWS 13, and compared the
bells/whistles of JAWS 13 to JAWS 11, and then knew in advance of the inherent
slow and sometimes buggy performance of JAWS 13, I'd opt for JAWS 11.

Again this is independent of operating system.

If JAWS 11 runs on Windows 7 (and I think it does at the last revision) then
JAWS 11 is more stable on either platform.

So should you run out and pay for JAWS 13 when you buy Windows 7? As long as
JAWS 11 will run on Windows 7, then give it a try to see if you're happy.

Note that I've said nothing about JAWS 12. In my opinion JAWS 12 is a
disaster and should be skipped. But again that's my opinion. JAWS 13 is far
better than JAWS 12.

I'm actually not only refering to Sonar. I'm curious about the overall
performance on all applications with jaws in windows 7 vs windows xp.

    Omar,

I wasn't aware you were being specific to Sonar. That I don't know. I'm
using Sonar Producer 7 on XP with JAWS 13 an no real issues with Sonar -- at
least no more than with other applications and JAWS 13.

JAWS 11 is still installed on my DAW just because there are time when JAWS
13 isn't as responsive as was JAWS 11.

I don't run Sonar on my Windows 7 machine. Just Sibelius and BIAB.

Dave, are you refering to use with sonar only, or with most/all other
applications?

JAWS 13 itself does not run as well as did JAWS 11 in my opinion,
regardless of the operating system. So it's better the devil you know than the
angel you don't. Go ahead and use JAWS 13 with Windows 7 as you will benefit
from future upgrades.

      Hello,

Just curious, I just bought a machine with Windows 7, (my first upgrade
since xp,) and wanted to know whether users here find that Jaws 13 runs better
with w7 or wxp?

      Thanks.
