Our braille department purchased 3 Juliet Classics. Within 2 years, 2 of them
broke down at the same time! It was very expensive to fix them. The parts for
one cost $32.93. The labor was $720.67! For the other one, the parts cost
$13.58. The labor was 570.00! One of those that was fixed is starting to do
shadow dots again. It took from March 2016 until August 2016 to get them back.
Luckily we had our 25 year old VersaPoints and were able to use them in the
meantime. Unfortunately, our computers can't hook up the Versapoints any longer.

Chelsea, The Jenny Beck Chapter of the Braille Revival League has been using an
Index Basic D for almost 20 years. It was easy to set up, prints either
single- or interpoint braille, and has been almost trouble free. It has been
sent back for work only twice. The braille is good, cost of repair reasonable.
I personally have a Juliet Pro60, which was also easy to set up, but has not
been really dependable, needed work twice in a year. The Juliet's braille is
sharper than the Index, but the cost of repair was high. Hope this helps, Mary
Davis

Subject: [duxuser] Embosser feedback
Hi all! There are a couple of embossers that I am considering purchasing, I
just haven't made a decision yet. One is the Juliet 120, the second is the
index basic D version five, and the third is the Columbia from view plus.
Have any of you used any of these embossers? They all sound good, and they
all seem to have good qualities. How are they regarding durability? What
about set up an excess ability? Thanks in advance, Chelsea
