Hi Don,
It rather sounds like the Word document might actually have
had hard carriage returns at the end of each line, as
opposed to being properly double spaced.
If you don't have anyone or any way to check, e-mail the
Word Document to me at george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and I'll
check it.

Hello:
I recently imported a Word document into DBT that was single
spaced in Word, but came out double spaced in DBt. The
shift F 1 command did not work. I ended up deleting the
extra lines individually. Fortunately, it was a short
document. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?
I'm using DBT 10.5 and Word 2003
