Anne,
I have my global setting set for wide paper, but I generally use narrow paper. If you change the global settings when you have an open document, I think it doesn't change anything. If I understand it correctly, you need to set the narrow paper in the documents menu, then embosser settings. I hope this helps, but I didn't see any other responses to this, so I'm giving it a shot.
