Betsy,
You're exactly right. It is also possible to create a template,
based on whatever template you use most of the time, with embosser
settings for narrow paper. Then, when you create a new file, use
that new template, and your settings will be exactly what you want
them to be. I've just started using this technique, and I find it
easier than having to modify my embosser settings every time I want
to use narrow paper. The technique won't work for an existing file,
and that's its only disadvantage. Just to give credit where it's
due, I got this idea from George in one of his postings about DBT's
Initial-Style, which you can probably find in the list archives if
you need more details.

Anne,
I have my global setting set for wide paper, but I generally use
narrow paper. If you change the global settings when you have an
open document, I think it doesn't change anything. If I understand
it correctly, you need to set the narrow paper in the documents
menu, then embosser settings. I hope this helps, but I didn't see
any other responses to this, so I'm giving it a shot.
