[duxuser] Question from a non-msword user

The DOS computer I use to do my braille transcribing does not have MSWORD.
This is not a problem for the majority of my work which is done from
scanned print documents or from ascii text. However, occasionally, I have
to convert a document from MSWORD to something that can be opened in
WordPefect DOS. I have a DOS program called VIEW whichwill very
successfully force such a document into plain ascii tect. Its main
drawback is that it leaves in the MSWORD codes--all the stuff about how
the document was prepared, what fonts, headings, printer etc. was used.
Does anyone know of another method for coverting MSWORD docments without
MSWORD or, alternatively, specific instruction to give customers so that
they can send a document originally created in MSWORD in plain text?
