I have used Plasticoil bindings for the books I am producing. These are
spirals that are inserted with a roller device. The punch is similar to
those used for comb bindings. The disadvantage of the spiral is that you
don't have a spine that can be labeled. One advantage of spirals is that
they do not open up. If you bind a large book with a comb binding, you may
find it desirable to use the combs with a locking feature. One company that
has heavy duty equipment for comb, coil and twin wire loop is Rhin-o-tuff.

If you bind a lot of material, an electric punch is very nice.
