John, My daughter's machine is also a Blazer you can email me directly off the list or I could copy my Blazer manual and email it to you, but I would need your direct email since I think the user list won't allow attachments. There are a few other questions I have 1. Is the blazer making any noise at all? Is it talking to you? If it is brailing gibberish and talking then it is a setting you need to adjust. 2. If it is not doing anything at all? If so, did you go through the set up process when Duxbury says to turn off the authorization on 10.5 release 1 before adding 10.5 release 2? If you didn't follow that step then you should be still able to open the old program and your blazer should run, there is a conflict in the two programs. 3. Another item I would ask you is if you change your computer hook up in any way? Did you go from a parallel to a serial port? Make sure your settings in the blazer and in the Duxbury program are the same. If you would like me to copy and email my owner's manual I can. My daughter' blazer is at least ten years old so we've had our share of program changes, computer changes etc. If I copy it to an email it would be an Adobe file or PDF and if you have Adobe Acrobat 6.0 or better the file should read out loud to you. Technology is the best of good and evil, I even had to give her Christmas present from her grandmother of a new computer to her siblings. I ended up having to do a major Windows update on her old machine because the new computers are not coming out with Parallel ports on all machines. And some of the newer computers like Dell's skinny computer, the hardware manufacturer's haven't caught up with the computer people and there are no new parallel ports to add to the new computer's internally, they have to be external and USB, which the Blazer is picky about. I can try to help but we may do better off list. Lynne C. If not working at all, start Duxbury, at the top where you find "file" "edit" go a couple more tabs and you will find settings and under that tab is embosser set up. Find your embosser on the list and save settings. If your Brailler is brailing miscellaneous information the embosser bar may need to be flipped over. This occurs on the Braille Blazer, there is a little handle on the embosser bar that my daughter use to occasionally flip and the embosser bar then is in graphing mode. Hopefully this helps. Lynne C.
