Hi Janet, It's a pity about the time difference between NZ and UK or we could quickly compare notes and settings by telephone. We've got various Indexes, and a Braille Blazer running off a Windows 2003 Server, all fed by XP systems, plus two Thiel Bax-10s. When you say, "Print Server", do you mean a print server box such as an HP JetDirect, or is it a dedicated PC with the embossers connected direct to printer ports within the PC itself? And are you using XP Home or Professional, and on what systems? My initial suspicion is that it may have something to do with either paper size, or Separator page. It's just possible that it is actually feeding 66 lines, as opposed to two and a half pages, especially if they have selected an 11 inch continuous form size somewhere. Another test you could try, is to "Connect" to the embosser from the workstation, as opposed to actually configuring it as a shared static device. Your admins should know how to do this, but it essentially means browsing for the device from a workstation, then right clicking on it, and selecting "Connect". This should then route through the Server's drivers as opposed to local drivers. George. ________________________________ From: duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:duxuser-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Janet Reynolds Sent: 19 August 2005 05:10 To: duxuser@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [duxuser] extra form feeds Has anyone come across this one before? We have just upgraded the PC that is used as a printserver in our embosser room. Now, when a Duxbury job is sent from any PC on the network to any of the embossers, we get two and a half form feeds at the end of the job. The printserver PC is XP and the driver is set up as Generic/Text only as before. It's interesting that if you send the job from DBT on the printserver PC itself, you don't get the extra form feeds if you point Duxbury at LPT1, but you do if you point it at the network address of the embosser. The network uses the standard TCPIP protocol and our network support folk can't think of anything in there to cause this effect. We could live with one or two form feeds but it's the half that is the killer! Janet
