Hi Ann and George
What version of DBT are you running Ann? I've discovered today that I
can emboss okay from the one PC we now have running 10.5. The two and a
half form feed problem only seems to happen with the PCs running DBT
10.3. I also don't get a problem if I save the file as a brf and send it
through the network to the embosser from DOS. So it seems to be a
compatability problem between 10.3 and our current network setup which
we may have to live with until we all move over to 10.5.
Janet

Yep, we're having the same problem here with all our networked
embossers. It is not a Duxbury thing, I don't think so anyway. It
seems to be something about the drivers, someone even mentioned that the
generic printer choice was the culprit. I hope someone finds out what
this and so we can fix it.

Has anyone come across this one before? We have just upgraded the PC
that is used as a printserver in our embosser room. Now, when a Duxbury
job is sent from any PC on the network to any of the embossers, we get
two and a half form feeds at the end of the job. The printserver PC is
XP and the driver is set up as Generic/Text only as before. It's
interesting that if you send the job from DBT on the printserver PC
itself, you don't get the extra form feeds if you point Duxbury at LPT1,
but you do if you point it at the network address of the embosser. The
network uses the standard TCPIP protocol and our network support folk
can't think of anything in there to cause this effect. We could live
with one or two form feeds but it's the half that is the killer! Janet
