Hello again.
I am mystified. Just now, I attempted to complete the transaction with AIB,
doing exactly what I had been doing on numerous occasions on Friday. It worked
without a glitch. There seems to be an element of hit and miss involved but,
I’m happy, at least on this occasion.
Once again, thanks to all who contributed to this thread.
Paul

Thanks Wictoria, Adrian and Pat.
Adrian, I wasn’t going to sign up for Revolut but I may now do so. Thanks Pat,
I have that number and have found it useful in the past but thought I wouldn’t
bother on a Friday afternoon.
Anyway, I will be seeking sighted help to sort the AIB problem over the weekend.

For anybody here using the aib bank , their helpline number is 0818 227 056 .
this is a specific helpline for elderly and disabled customers so there will be
less people ringing this helpline number.

Yes I am a user of the AIB app and I do agree that for accessiblity whiese is
very bad. I have proboems with login ining and checking my balance and things
like that it is very bad in point of view unfortunately. I know that seucurity
area has to be there but it should much more accessible then it is as for now
it si not good for an visual imaired or a blind user unfortunately.

Hi Ken.
On the face of it, Voice Recognition appears to remain switched off when I open
the AIB app. But the app itself continues to be in effect inaccessible. I had
the rotor switched to Headings all the time today. I haven’t used the AIB app
very much, it used to be more user-friendly a few years back but understandable
changes for security reasons have made it more difficult.
How do you folks out there find the accessibility of the AIB app?

I have a feeling screen recognition is after being switched on again by
accident when you’re in the Aib app. I’ve just opened up the app myself.
Switched on screen recognition. There is a text field where to put in 5 digit
pin but when I double tap on the text field the keyboard doesn’t appear. Then I
switched off screen recognition repeated the steps I just mentioned putting in
my pin and the keyboard appeared. Maybe you could try this go into the app and
make sure screen recognition is turned off. Turn the rotor to headings while
screen recognition is turned off just in case it’s being knocked on by accident.
Hope this helps.

Ken

Hi again.
Well, I managed to get to where I should input my 5 digit pin but despite
numerous attempts, there is nowhere available to me to do so. There is a
continue button but that takes me nowhere. I have given up!
Thanks Adrian, Ken and Jackie for your support. As you say Ken, it can be
fiddly. From my point of view, that is a big understatement.

That's great Paul, it's a step forward.
Once you confirm, have you confirmed the transaction on your PC by hitting the
"I have confirmed in the app" button?

Hi Ken.
You were spot on about Screen Recognition being on. Now I get a screen with
payment details when I hit confirm but I am still having trouble completing the
transaction. I reckon that a few more attempts should get me there.
Thanks very much for your shrewd suggestion.

By any chance would screen recognition be switched on by accident. This would
cause the Aib app up to act strangely. Normally after I do an online
transaction I get a notification. On my phone. I double tap on the notification
and then I get asked for my five digit pin. After I have approved this. Then I
go back to wherever I was trying to make the purchase and I double tap on I
have confirmed on my app. This can be a bit fiddly sometimes.
Hope you get sorted.
All The Best,
Ken

Thanks again Adrian. No, I am not using a fingerprint, everything appears to
be fine until I double tap the confirm button. Forgive me, you've lost me when
you say use pac.
At this stage, I'm more intrigued than anything else and I will probably seek
sighted help over the weekend. If I find out what is causing the problem, I
will let the group know.

Are you using a fingerprint? Is it under the screen? Just guessing because
these details are missing...
Hit use PAC instead and log in with the code. Then you'll be shown the Confirm
button again. Maybe this way it works.

Paul,
when you say "stuck" what exactly do you mean? Is the button not responding and
staying there?

Yes it is AIB and I am doing exactly as you suggest but, as I say, I appear to
get stuck on the first confirm button on the mobile.
Thanks for getting back to me.

Hi Paul,
sounds like it is AIB and you try to make an online purchase.
If so, once you press confirm on your mobile, go back to your desktop
and press the "I've confirmed on the app" button that's waiting on the
screen.
Hope it helps.

Hi all.
I'm sure I have done the below successfully in the past but not for quite a
while now.
I am trying to complete an online transaction on my desktop and I get to the
part where all details are inputted correctly and my bank gives me a confirm
button to press on my mobile. However, when I double tap on confirm, I appear
to get stuck. I think that it is not confirming, asnothing seems happens , and
when I proceed to reconfirm once again as instructed back on my desktop, again
nothing happens and I eventually find myself cancelled back to the beginning of
the transaction.
Any idea as to where I am going wrong? I should add that the money required is
in my account and it is a very small amount, just in case anyone suggests that
I don't have the requisite amount in my account(smile).
Thanks in advance for any help offered
Paul.
