A slot being linked to itself shouldn't happen, so if this is the case, it
would mean the hash table is corrupt. This part is behaving like a linked
list.
Does enabling the tracing in PathMonitor.cpp reveal anything interesting?
In particular, is the PathHandler class used properly (no use after
deletion, etc)?
