Mine is not idle when I hear it. It happens while I’m typing or reading
something so it can’t be a screen saver, can it? It interferes with my reading
and I have to restart the reading from where I was. I also have notifications
interferring with my reading as well. I’m sure I can go in and set them to just
show up and disappear without my having to close them, which I have to do now
before I can continue what I was doing.
So many things interfering with using the computer that stop everything. Not
used to that at all.

Yeah it's annoying but there's no way to disable that. A work around is
to go into energy saver in system preferences and set your display to
sleep after 10 or 20 minutes.
