it has to do with our serving and is important when you are working on battery
only. i'm fairly sure it has to do with being a screen saver so that if you go
away from your work somebody cannot view it.

Yeah it's annoying but there's no way to disable that. A work around is to
go into energy saver in system preferences and set your display to sleep
after 10 or 20 minutes.
