I don’t have any problems with boot camp and jaws.
I’d forgotten about the about this mac info. you can also run system info and
get all kinds of useful info.

you rely on apple system information found in "about this mac" and system
profiler as part of the Utilities folder. this has changed in mountain lion so
you rely natively on "About This Mac"
As an apple technician, I use apple's Direct Technet database for specialist
support as well as manuals for all products, etc. so these things do come in
handy lol.
your macbook air should be fine to support what you need. if you find you're
using too much resources, then get an external USB HDD that's powered by USB,
create your volume on the external drive, that way you can get more space.
I am also a user of bootcamp and highly recommend it as you get more support in
bootcamp for direct hardware. OK you can't go on the fly between OS's but you
can cross data between OS's. as both bootcamp and your mac's OS X drive are
shown in windows explorer, you can cross data over without issues.
bootcamp would give you a lot of support but be warned, if you're a JAWS user,
bootcamp and VMWare fusion conflict with licenses and you could be in trouble.
