Nice to hear from you, Mike! Thanks for putting together this list and
the associated software. I also liked reading your notes on the history
and context for the project.
My impression is that you've been concentrating on improving support for
speech generation on the Raspberry Pi. This is a highly technical area
which I know almost nothing about. However, I'm delighted that you have
the energy and skills to take this on.
You mentioned your git repositories, but I haven't been able to find any
links to them. In particular, I'd like to check out the source tree and
build documentation for creating your Linux release images.
I'd also like to know more about your choice of Arch for the F123 project
(https://f123.org/en). In particular, how do you feel about its package
management approach and offerings, as compared to Debian's? Is there a
possibility that you'll be switching to Arch for Raspberry VI distros?
By way of background, I've been using Unix for 3+ decades. My desktop
and laptop machines are Macs, and I had heard good things about Apple's
efforts at accessibility, so I pushed Amanda in that direction. However,
Amanda finds Mac OS X to be less accessible (and malleable) than Linux.
So, we're working on assembling a blind-friendly, "batteries included"
Linux distribution that will meet her needs for software development as
well as general use. It should run on a wide range hardware, from a
handheld (such as F123 or Perky) to a laptop or desktop machine. I'd
appreciate any comments or suggestions you can offer.
