Our group of 14 tallied 52 species. Once the fog lifted we were treated to a
ten warbler day! Other highlights include good views of a YB Cuckoo, Swainson's
thrush and pied billed grebe.
Should the government shut down and the park be closed next Sunday, our
alternate plan is to bird the meadow at Riverbend Park. We will meet at the
Nature Center parking lot (second entrance) at 8:00 am. All are welcome to
join us, no matter where we are. -- Marshall Rawson, McLean VA
