Hi all Last week I have installed Audacity 1.3.13-beta on my Windows XP netbook with Jaws 11 on it. I have tried to edit a track by using keyboard commands mentionned in the guide for Jaws users, but Audacity die not react, whiley, funnily, it did when I choose the commands in the menu bar. As described in the manual, I turned the automatic selection of all audio off. After having opened the mp3-file I wanted to edit, I did the following to select a time range and cut it: play: space bar Move to beginning of time range: arrows left and right pause playback: p Set start of time range: [ unpause: p move to the end of the time range: arrows left and right pause: p Set end of time range: ] stop playback: space bar delete selected time range: delete. When playing the track, the audio I had selected and deleted was not there any more like I wanted. But when I exported it to an mp3 file, the deleted section was in the file again. My second try was to select a time range as I described above and transferred it into another track by cut and paste, what did not work as well. Even my sighted friend who has also installed the same audacity version but on a Win 7 computer had the same problems using keystrokes. Did we misunderstand the manual? Or do I need to install a special script including the keystrokes explained in the manual? Thanks for your help! Cheers Regina
