I tried both to post and to write to you privately, Val, but
nothing worked;I'll try again; may this third time will be the charm; I
wanted to say(and will, say here; that I am *very* sorry to hear about you
rloss of your life's partner of so many years but am glad he passed
peacefully and hopefully painlessly in his sleep; I knew you and Doug
via posts and sometimes personal mail for many years; I shared your
tragic and difficult moments as well as some happy ones, e.g.moments when
things improved with with your daughters' and Doug's health; and the
acceptances of your books into the collection ; fortunately you have a
strong faith and that should help you through this difficult time;I think (
don't quite remember) that part of a prayer says our loved ones remain in
our our hearts and minds forever; I know from experience that they appear
in our dreams and it's as if they're right there with us;

*Subject:* [bksvol-discuss] A sad note
Last night at about 9 PM, my beloved husband, Doug, passed away. It
happened without notice; he was not sick and I was out grocery shopping. I
am bereft. I cannot imagine my life without him, but I am grateful for 24
years of marriage and almost two more before that. Doug was an amazing man
and a great blessing as a Bookshare work partner. Please forgive me if I
do not reply as there are many people to notify and arrangements to make.
Please keep me in your prayers as I enter this new chapter of my life,
alone. It's been over 35 years since I lived alone. Even our two sweet
dogs can tell everything is different.
Valerie
