I just read a Miss Zukas book that Mary submitted; she had a page number, a 
line of asterisks and then the chapter heading; nothing was erased. In this 
case I would say that the asterisks weren't really necessary; however, they 
did help accentuate the factor that there was a new chapter.

then chapter name.  It will eat the asterisks.  <smile>

  As Lissi Says, Hi Booksharians,

  When the chapter name such as "Chapter One" is the first thing at the top 
of the page and the page number is at the bottom of a page, (and I do not 
wish to move the page number), will putting one blank line on both sides of 
the chapter name protect it? Thanks.
