Funny thing is, I've tried some of the stuff in Sonar, and for some reason, for me, it sometimes degrades the audio quality. What the heck is up withthat?
What the heck is up with that, is probably that not all plug-ins are created equal. Compressors, EQ's, or whatever from various manufacturers will yield different results, even if you give them the same settings.
It depends what you're trying to do though. For example, if you're time compressing or stretching audio without changing its pitch, the more you push things, the more likely you are to hear artifacts of the processing.
