Tim, better add your self to that list, smile. Probably one of the best
kept secrets is the Mackie reader that Tim's coded up. Heard Tim demo it.
It's a great tool. Am planning to get around to testing it in the very near
future.

Absolutely, there's almost no funding to do this kind of work and the fact
that so much of it is done for free is a testament to the character of
people like Vic, Phil, Jackie, Bryan etc.. The real cost of this kind of
work is the purchase of a copy of the software to be made accessible (no,
we're not at home to cracks), then several days (at least) of some
heavy-duty effort. Remember that the folks providing the solution are in
the same boat as you are - they can't see the interface either, so an awful
lot of time is spent systematically testing what happens if a click is
performed at any particular location. Good product documentation can help,
but it rarely discusses anything but mouse actions on pictures that we can't
see.

Best wishes.

Chris, it's good of you to offer, but, it probably would take more than
that. You're looking at scripts for Melodyne, not just hot spots.

When people pay, they expect what they get to be fairly comprehensively
accessible. Accomplishing that with Melodyne would take a few days, at the
minimum. There would need to be at least a few hundred people standing by
with $10 to even break even. If I were seriously considering this work, it
would be more reasonable to expect maybe 30 people to pay $50. I wish that
sort of support was common. If people were willing and able to support work
like that, there could be many more accessible programs than there are now.

Bryan

Not having any idea how long it takes to develop hotspot sets, I'll make
this offer anyway.
I'll gladly donate $10 US to whoever is willing to attempt hotspots for
Melodyne. If enough people do that, the person or persons doing the work
get some financial compensation for their time, effort, and skills.

I've already donated to Phil's efforts, and he's got his hands full.

I'm thinking that $10 is a small enough fee that most of us can afford it -
heck, any of you who smoke probably spend that on your habbit in a couple
days.

Chris
