This whole debate on wether one should jump to Mac is a sensitive issue .
Indeed protools is a complicated program even for those who are sited, so it
has nothing to do with efficiency because the protools interface is hard to
navigate with any system wether it be with VoiceOver. And Vision.
LIke Phil and Tim are saying if you are comfortable in the Windows environment
then staying there is okay too, however I'm sorry to say this on list however
Windows 7 is soon going to go, and we need to start thinking of using Windows
10 as the commercial market is going in that direction because unfortunatly
wether you guys want to here this or not, Windows 7 is going to be dead in the
water.
I'm HOpeing that Sampletude is going to work under Windows 10 which I"m sure
that is what's on the menu plan lol,
I have been using the Mac for the last several years, and it just takes a
matter of getting use to, however beeing efficient on the Mac can be quick too,
because I use Logic Pro, and it has numerous keyboard commands, and you are
able to map keyboard commands, and make your own, so saying that the Mac is not
efficient is not necessarily true, because Logic Pro is just as good as sonar.
Recently the latest update has given us access to use like in sonar
Letters s to solo, letter m to mute, and these are now beeing spoken by
VoiceOver.
You also have hot keys to be able to jump from the mixer view, and the track
view.
And I have recently discovered that when you are in the finder, and opening
files, with the quick key Nav turned yoff ou can function just like a PC in
using the arrow keys to navigate files, and whilst in the track headers of
Logic Pro you can navigate the list of tracks with your arrow keys.
Additionally, whilst opening a file and Logic, TextEdit, and other programs you
can also use your tab key to navigate the window.
Sure like all programs softwares Logic still has some ways to go, however I
have been able to record demo projects, and submit professional projects using
Logic Pro., and while automation is turned on, I can effectively while in the
mixer perform pan, volume, and send levels using the Mac keyboard.
I am currently working closely with Apple to make sure that things are just as
accessible with Logic Pro, and they are truly committed to making things
accessible., and Okay, I'm going to let the cat out of the bag, I'm developing
tutorials for Logic and GarageBand from a voiceOver perspective.
Unfortunatly we are at a point in time right now where things are in limbo, and
that' just the way it is .
Both platforms have there strengths and weaknesses, and in a perfect world
having both is the best as lots of commercial studios here in the states, and
Canada have both.
However, that beeing said, you need to consider on what is comfortable with
you. Sure it's hard for
Any one to make the switch, and that's no lie, however when I considered all
things considered about a year ago, I had to make a hard descitian to jump, and
I don't regret it one bit.
I'm going to say this again, if you are comfortable on the PC Windows is great,
as I honestly still use it under Caketalking and Sonar under Windows 7, and am
saddend that CT is not working under Windows 10, and am wanting to try
Sampletude when it comes out too.
Take the time that you need to, because Bill is here to help you make a good
purchase., and I am here to support what ever plat form one wishes to go to,
as well as consult, on what ever platform.

There's lots to choose from, and at some point you have to grab the candy in
the jar that you love lol.
Today's technology is overwelming indeed, and can be quite frustrating indeed
when it comes to deciding, , however, taking the time patiently and calmly is
the way you have to do it.

Anyway with great options like Samplitude and others such as Reaper you don’t
