Well, with other creators of software synths getting onboard with this
maybe people like EastWest will join. They have some very good
libraries themselves

Accessible or not, technology is something that we should all in embrace in
our own way and piece fully, and calmly you should be afraid in talking to

instruments would finally make a solution work for us, when about five years

It's why I never gave up on Logic, because if you look at the software from
the time it launched in 2013 it was a complete darkness, and when I think
back at the apple rep who told me that I could get my money back, I
persisted calmly, and patiently and told him that I'd like to get it
accessible to at least a working point where one could use it.
Yes it has its points where it needs work on however imagine if I never put
in my two sense worth back in 2013.
Now I'm using it, and making tutorials for others to work with it.
My current masters degree which is in Educational technology has given me
the tools to create podcasts, and instructions to get folks up and running
smoothly.
I may not be the best, however I'm doing what I can lol.
I seriously can't wait to work with Samplitude on the PC side.
Keep me posted when it finally gets to the point where I could use it with
Windows 10.

As one of the samplitude beta testers With the release of samplitude
scripts immenent I want to encourage anyone who wants to stay on the
windows platform to start reading up on samplitude and check out as many
youtube videos on samplitude as you can find. It’s truly a fantastic
option. When I started using it I couldn’t believe how quickly I adapted
to it’s different ways of doing things. I loved sonar 8.5. it brought me
where I am today but it’s time to move on.

This whole debate on wether one should jump to Mac is a sensitive issue .
Indeed protools is a complicated program even for those who are sited, so
it has nothing to do with efficiency because the protools interface is
hard to navigate with any system wether it be with VoiceOver. And Vision.
LIke Phil and Tim are saying if you are comfortable in the Windows
environment then staying there is okay too, however I'm sorry to say this
on list however Windows 7 is soon going to go, and we need to start
thinking of using Windows 10 as the commercial market is going in that
direction because unfortunatly wether you guys want to here this or not,
Windows 7 is going to be dead in the water.
I'm HOpeing that Sampletude is going to work under Windows 10 which I"m
sure that is what's on the menu plan lol,
I have been using the Mac for the last several years, and it just takes a
matter of getting use to, however beeing efficient on the Mac can be quick
too, because I use Logic Pro, and it has numerous keyboard commands, and
you are able to map keyboard commands, and make your own, so saying that
the Mac is not efficient is not necessarily true, because Logic Pro is
just as good as sonar.
Recently the latest update has given us access to use like in sonar
Letters s to solo, letter m to mute, and these are now beeing spoken by
VoiceOver.
You also have hot keys to be able to jump from the mixer view, and the
track view.
And I have recently discovered that when you are in the finder, and
opening files, with the quick key Nav turned yoff ou can function just
like a PC in using the arrow keys to navigate files, and whilst in the
track headers of Logic Pro you can navigate the list of tracks with your
arrow keys.
Additionally, whilst opening a file and Logic, TextEdit, and other
programs you can also use your tab key to navigate the window.
Sure like all programs softwares Logic still has some ways to go, however
I have been able to record demo projects, and submit professional projects
using Logic Pro., and while automation is turned on, I can effectively
while in the mixer perform pan, volume, and send levels using the Mac
keyboard.
I am currently working closely with Apple to make sure that things are
just as accessible with Logic Pro, and they are truly committed to making
things accessible., and Okay, I'm going to let the cat out of the bag, I'm
developing tutorials for Logic and GarageBand from a voiceOver
perspective.
Unfortunatly we are at a point in time right now where things are in
limbo, and that' just the way it is .
Both platforms have there strengths and weaknesses, and in a perfect world
having both is the best as lots of commercial studios here in the states,
and Canada have both.
However, that beeing said, you need to consider on what is comfortable
with you. Sure it's hard for
Any one to make the switch, and that's no lie, however when I considered
all things considered about a year ago, I had to make a hard descitian to
jump, and I don't regret it one bit.
I'm going to say this again, if you are comfortable on the PC Windows is
great, as I honestly still use it under Caketalking and Sonar under
Windows 7, and am saddend that CT is not working under Windows 10, and am
wanting to try Sampletude when it comes out too.
Take the time that you need to, because Bill is here to help you make a
good purchase., and I am here to support what ever plat form one wishes to
go to, as well as consult, on what ever platform.

Note: I have Pro Tools 12.5 here on the Mac and if you edit audio it’s
great for that. However even hi end PT users will tell you that to use it
affectively you really do need a control surface and having accessed PT on
the Mac I can say for sure that where as 1 keystroke would do on Windows
to achieve the same result, you are looking at using about 10 to do the
same thing with Voiceover. Sure you can use PT without a control surface
but I wouldn’t recommend it. However if like me you also do a lot of MIDI
editing then, that’s another issue again. Also you have to interact with
tables etc and it’s not fast.
Anyway with great options like Samplitude and others such as Reaper you
don’t necessarily need to go that direction if you don’t want too.
