Well, okay...

My thoughts may be scattered, I'm listening while writing.

I wonder about panning the slide guitar/ dobro and acoustic finger picking guitar just a little farther apart during the intro? Or panning the finger picking guitar another 20 percent over all.

How about filtering the first 4 bars of the intro? Or maybe just the slide guitar and finger picking guitar during the intro?

I would probably just take out the first cymbal hit, or reverse it. It seems to stick out and be a little pointless.

I may think of moving the tambourine a little nearer to the center for most of the song. Yeah, I know, you may run into problems with the field seeming a little more offset because you also have the shaker panned hard... If the finger picking guitar is panned a little more to the left though, it may carry that side in place of the tambo. Its all in experimenting.

For a minute I was thinking about making the lead vocal a little more direct, but I'm digging it the way it is. Maybe bring the backing vocal down a DB or so though.

Maybe some copying and pasting of the vocals is in order near the end of the tune? I may would try copying the "your gonna miss me when I'm gone", or just the "when I'm gone", filtering that down with the telephone preset in the sonitus equalizer, and pasting it in as a repeat, kind of in the background.

Like I say, these are just ideas, all of which may not even work for the tune. Its hard to know what a guy is working with when your judging changes. After all, for all I know, you may only have 1 or 2 tracks of drums, maybe the guitars weren't stereo miked and so on.

Some times, its just a matter of what you have to work with. I can't count the times I wanted to change something in someone's mix, but couldn't because I didn't have enough tracks, or I was given a track with an affect printed on it, or something.

Like I said, I think you did a fine job on this man. Nothing in the world "wrong" with your choices, for my ear, I liked them.

Hi Shawn.

Yeah, I spent hours just fixing vocal problems with that hip hop song. maybe i should put "song" in quotes!

About the other track though, what would you have done instead? Come on, let fly man. :)
