Oh we had everything, thankfully, full drum set close miced, plus
room overheads, plus mid/side pair.
I see what you mean about that first cymbal hit - reversing it is a
great idea! I was listening to the Beatles' Strawberry Fields just
yesterday, loving the backwards drums. *grin* People must have
thought they were mad in the early 60's.
I'll experiment with the telephone effect as a delay on certain
words/phrases, especially when I'm gone, or maybe just gone, gone,
etc. *grin*
The commercial reference we had for this track had the main vocal
heavily filtered throughout, and dry, so it kind of put me off the
whole telephone sound for it.
